    Dr. Ahsan Aziz

    Founder & CEO

    Dr. Ahsan Aziz is a wireless communications pioneer with 27+ years of experience in DSP chip architecture, wireless communication algorithm and systems architecture, standard contribution, and R&D leadership.
    He co-founded XRComm to drive next-gen wireless innovation, following key roles at Meta and National Instruments, where he led industry-first developments in 5G mmWave, mMIMO, and O-RAN. A Ph.D. from Texas A&M, Dr. Aziz holds 20+ patents and numerous publications. He has collaborated with global leaders in the wireless industry. At XRComm, he leads a world-class team advancing transformative wireless solutions that power the future of connectivity.

    Kodanda R. Engala​

    Founder & CTO

    Kodanda Engala brings 24+ years of RF and microwave engineering expertise to XRComm, where he leads innovation in advanced wireless hardware. He has designed cutting-edge radio systems across 2G–5G, SIGINT, and mmWave. He co-founded XRComm to drive innovations in RF and Wireless Systems, previously at Meta and Nokia, he shaped O-RAN radio architectures and led the development of the industry’s first triple-band RRU and high-efficiency power amplifiers. Kodanda holds 6+ U.S. patents and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. His leadership drives XRComm’s mission to redefine wireless T&M and prototyping.

    Michel Haddad

    Sr VP of Marketing & Sales

    Michel Haddad brings over 35 years of global leadership in technology, sales, and R&D. His career includes key roles at National Instruments, and TONOMUS/NEOM, where he led global growth and system-level innovations in space communications and test instrumentation. At XRComm, he drives strategic marketing and business development for next-gen wireless testing solutions. He holds an ScM in EE&CS from MIT, a B.Sc.EE degrees from GWU (Summa Cum Laude), and several patents in test and measurement.

    Dr. Wes McCoy

    Director of Wireless Systems Engineering

    Over 30 years in DSP, RF systems, and led 3GPP standardization for NI and FreeScale with 111 U.S. patents. Former research scientist at Cesium Astro and systems architect at National Instruments. Led cutting-edge developments in LTE, NR, WiFi, and software-defined radio, development of 28GHz channel sounders, and contributed to 3GPP RAN1 efforts.

    Past experience includes senior technical leadership at Motorola/Freescale.
    Holds a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico and a B.S. from Purdue.

    Brad Brannon

    Consultant - Wireless Systems Architectures

    Brad Brannon is a seasoned wireless systems architect with over 30 years of experience in RF design, high-speed digitizers, and signal chain optimization. With a long career at Analog Devices and contributions to the O-RAN Alliance, he has helped shape industry standards in wireless infrastructure. A prolific technical writer and presenter, Brad is known for translating complex engineering concepts into practical solutions. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from NC State and is an Amateur Radio Extra Class licensee (KX4GF)

    Colin Chaney

    Senior Hardware Engineer

    Designs analog and digital hardware for next-gen wireless systems and responsible for system integration at XRComm. Holds an M.Eng. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT. Expert in precision analog design, mixed-signal systems, and power electronics.

    Former R&D contributor at National Instruments, Analog Devices, and Cellcom. Brings hands-on experience in circuit validation and high-voltage isolation solutions.

    Dr. Abhinanda Dutta

    Senior Wireless Systems Engineer

    Leads ML-driven techniques and PHY layer algorithm development at XRComm. Holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University. Expert in data-driven modeling, deep learning, and real-world RF system emulation. Previously held research roles at MediaTek, Intel Labs, Nokia Bell Labs, and Ford. Focuses on system-level optimization for next-gen wireless test and measurement solutions.

    Dr. Christopher Thron

    AI/ML Architect

    Christopher Thron is an expert in digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm design with a focus on AI/ML-based implementations for wireless and embedded systems. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in mathematics and physics and has over 20 years of experience spanning academia and industry, including engineering roles at NEC America, Motorola, and Freescale. He has authored 40+ journal articles, holds nine patents, and has led research in machine learning, sensor networks, anomaly detection, and optimization. At XRComm, he applies advanced AI/ML techniques to develop next-generation signal processing solutions. His work is internationally recognized and has been supported by the U.S. Fulbright Program and Air Force Research Laboratory.

    Intern

    Abrar Rahman

    Undergraduate intern studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at UT Austin. At XRComm, he contributes to lab projects focused on RF parametric measurements, RF conformance testing, and test automation, with a keen interest in RF, wireless technologies, and digital signal processing

    Our Origins

    Our team has led pioneering developments across 2G
    to 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and O-RAN-compliant technologies. Key innovations include:

    • Industry-first triple-band RRUs and Doherty power amplifiers (Nokia).
    • 5G NR uplink and beamforming architectures (Meta).

    We leverage cutting-edge AI/ML for DSP algorithm design, RF calibration, and anomaly detection. Our AI/ML architects and researchers have published 40+ journal papers, book chapters, hold numerous patents, and apply
    advanced machine learning to embedded and real-world wireless systems.

    From analog and mixed-signal circuit design to scalable hardware platforms, our engineers have designed mission-critical hardware for wireless base stations, SIGINT systems, satellite payloads, and high-voltage analog platforms.

    Our team brings expertise in satellite payload design,
    including DSP architecture and algorithm development for true time delay digital
    beamforming ICs and payload optimization, covering output power tuning, antenna element configuration, and beam allocation strategies within dynamic satellite constellations.
